Perhaps one of Zhejiang’smost unique and beautiful areas is the collection of islands known as theZhoushan archipelagos, located just south of Hangzhou Bay.Last month the that’s team took a trip to the area’s Putuo district to learn more aboutits people, its culture, its history and - of course - its future. Whilst therewe managed to catch up with a number of local artisans and craftsmen whose workand livelihoods are intrinsically linked with the region’s unique topography -its coastlines, its islands, its marine heritage – as well as taking in some of Putuo’s most scenic spots, includingthe Buddhist Kingdom that is Putusohan Island.
